The lights slowly dim as the first notes of music begin to play. The packed crowd unleashes a roar of excitement and preparation for their favorite musicians to take the stage. Jérôme Brunet prepares his camera, hoping to preserve this breathtaking moment in history forever within the pages of his new book Into the Light.

The influence music has in our daily lives is magical. It elicits feelings of warmth and sometimes sadness in its listeners. Alongside this, music has the power to shape our perception of the world around us, for Jérôme Brunet music was the catalyst that brought him to the path of photography.

Most of Brunet’s roots can be traced back to music. He started learning how to play music when he was a young boy. Thanks to his upbringing his parents had ignited a passion for music in him by both being musicians themselves. In fact, it wasn’t until high school that he shifted his focus towards photography and that allowed him to blend both of his two passions.

Individually music and photography are beautiful forms of art and expression. However, combining these two creates something new. Named after his unique style Brunet’s Into the Light is the ultimate compendium for both lovers of photography and music. Within the pages of this book, Brunet has compiled a collection of photos that he’s taken at countless concerts, music festivals, and events — appealing to both fans of music and photography.

After carefully examining each photo, his love and dedication for both of these art forms become rapidly more apparent. He has spent years dedicated to improving his craft.  The photos in this book are more than just images on a page. They are works of art that preserve the memories of these musicians and their performances.
