“When I’m traveling, I like to stroll around and follow people in their surroundings of their daily lives; people who are waiting, walking, working, eating, or children playing. There is always something beautiful and special in these day to day moments. All these pictures tell little stories about love, desire, happiness as well as a juxtaposition of these things. I wanted to capture the brilliant light and colors of Africa as well as their abundant amount of energy and power.

As the only white man among the African people, I tried to be invisible to take pictures without them posing. I wanted to become familiar with the locals and respect their dignity.

The photographs were taken in Senegal, West Africa.”
