This photo is part of my Dundee Project, Dundee is a rural township located in the southwestern corner of the Montérégie region of Quebec Canada. Scots settlers arrived in the region in about 1800, giving this place a name from their homeland: Dundee in Scotland. Dundee is a research-based project that I started in the year of 2016, with a focus on Dundee’s evolution over time concerning the stories of Scottish migrations. In the year of 2018, I followed Dr William Fraser, the third generation of Scottish descendants who lives in Dundee QC, visited Scotland with a purpose to trace the family roots of Fraser. One day we stopped at a castle, which is not in our travel plan, at its back yard we found this private graveyard with a big stone-tomb the carving indicates that this is from a Fraser Family. The moment when Dr William Fraser reading the text on the tomb triggers this photo.
