All images and text by Adam Whyte.

Adam Whyte is a designer and image maker based in Los Angeles. His work centers around tropes of contemporary romanticism and abstraction; formal elements lean towards the bold, expressive, eerie and ephemeral. His body of work Lucid explores the photographer’s reintroduction to the urban landscapes of New York, after living in provincial Washington State. Cityscapes of chaos, disorder, and transience are reframed and molded into luminous and visceral compositions— stark observational images strung together into surreal, ambiguous narratives. A digital preview of the project can be viewed through an interactive web app, designed after the body of work and its book form, here.
