Alone with his thoughts, he climbs the muted stairs in the stark desolation. Deep in thought, his body moves on autopilot, and he does not need to hold the railings or be aware of his mundane surroundings. The older man's thoughts rattle around inside his mind. However, he stays consistent with his need to ascend.
