Evolution explores the concepts of progress, transformation, growth, and advancement in an age when images are taking a dramatic shift in the role they play in our lives.

Happy Musée Day!

Happy Musée Day!

From National Puppy Day to National Waffle Day, there are plenty of unofficial holidays to celebrate all the little things that make our lives a bit more worth living for. Today, March 26, is National Make Up Your Own Holiday Day. So from all of us here at Musée: Happy Musée Day!

Founded in November 2011, by our tireless Editor-In-Chief Andrea Blanch, Musée Magazine is sometimes quirky, sometimes sensual, always unpredictable and we pride ourselves on being the vanguard of cutting-edge photography culture. We’ve been publishing as a non-profit for the last seven years, creating an unparalleled platform where we celebrate and empower the photography of both established and emerging artists. From interviews with Cindy Sherman to reviewing Oscar-winning documentary Free Solo, our promise is that you’ll never be bored.

Sitting on the tiger-printed velvet couch, our office at Musée is peppered with stacks of multi-colored photography books, overlooking the labyrinthine streets of West Side Manhattan. As you peer over the balcony twenty-two stories above ground, your eye traces the length of Chambers Street to the New York City Hall that peeks between the buildings. The setting sun paints our everyday view with a rose-gold glow. Throughout the day, the soundtrack that accompanies us is the laughter over jokes that no one remembers, the jingling bells on the collars of our editor’s two cats, and the rapid click-clacking of fingers flying over keyboards as we prepare for our upcoming issue IMPACT and create your daily dose of content online.

Over the years, we have striven to expand our initiatives. Musée proudly presents Musée x Hasselblad Artist Talk on April 4, featuring Mona Kuhn, Rachel Perry, and Molly Soda, moderated by Carol Kino. We are also thrilled to partner with AIPAD for the Annual Photography Show-- the longest-running and foremost exhibition in America dedicated to the photographic medium, also starting on April 4.

In addition, Musée is introducing our very first Limited Print Edition, featuring Laurie Simmons, Steve Miller, Karine Laval etc. While Musée continues to expose our readers to the most dynamic and innovative photographers, we are always looking for opportunities to broaden our community.

We, at Musée, are currently working on our twenty-second issue, IMPACT. We remain committed to creating our magazine, as well as daily content for our website, with unbounded creativity and enthusiasm. We are here to celebrate Musée and everyone who has contributed and helped make Musée what is it today. Happy Musée Day!
