Coronavirus in Nigeria – the toll it takes on women
Nigerian photographer and visual artist Etinosa Yvonne’s favorite subject is women in the rural areas of her country. The self-trained 30-year-olds recent work with international charity ActionAid in the Nigerian capital of Abuja documents relief efforts and captures how the women in these vulnerable areas have been affected by the coronavirus.
Art to benefit black lives
Seeinblack.com is a collective of 80 black photographers launched on Juneteenth with the purpose of dismantling white supremacy and systematic oppression. The site features a highly curated selection of photographs available to purchase for $100 each, with 100% of the proceeds benefiting causes aimed at improving black lives.
Exhibition depicts LGBTQIA+ “Leisure and Pleasure”
Edouard Taufenbach’s latest exhibition “Suddenly, Last Summer,” is a collection of collages taken from filmmaker Sébastien Lifshitz’s extensive archive of queer found imagery. The virtual exhibition at the Elizabeth Houston Gallery runs until July 31.
187MP Leica
Thanks to its latest firmware update, the Leica SL2 is now capable of shooting colossal 187-megapixel photos. When a photograph is taken in Multishot, the stabilization is turned on its head and moves the sensor eight times, shifting by a half a pixel each time. As a result, the camera’s 47MP resolution is quadrupled to 187MP.
