Flash Fiction : Bart Heynen

When we met, we stayed up til dawn, just dancing and kissing. Those nights we spent together in London during our early days remain some of the fondest memories of my life. Sleep wasn’t the priority, our love was. We were building something new, away from family, away from rules.

Today, you are my family; and what we have built will stand the test of time. Though older now, we still greet the dawn together, thanks to our twin terrible sleepers. Per the chachkis in our living room: every day with you is a dream, my love. Happy Valentine’s Day.
