About the Artist

Marissa Mackey is a lens-based artist currently working and residing in Brooklyn, New York. She received her BFA from Clark University in 2009 and an MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2017. In 2018 she was a Space-Time Studio artist-in-residence at Rare Air on Governors Island. She grew up in coastal Maine observing flocks of tourists in the summer. Her work explores the image-driven ‘culture’ and traditions of tourism.
