Welcome to our new feature, “Triggered!”. Each week, we will be featuring a single work by a photographer, and asking them to write about what was going through their head, why the photograph was taken, what "triggered" the photograph.
While I was creating this image, I was listening to The Velvet Underground. Candy Says started playing and I connected with the lyrics,
Candy says I've come to hate my body
And all that it requires in this world.
I took this photograph in response to the song. I was thinking a lot about gender dysphoria.
