It’s the most wonderful time of the year, apparently. Christmas lights adorn every tree on campus and carolers sing of warm feelings. Yet, I’ve never been lonelier. Studying abroad is intellectually fulfilling, but emotionally, I’m depleted.
After finishing my research for the day, I board the metro at Campo Grande. Once aboard, I am greeted by two young lovers wrapped up in each other. They don’t move an inch; they sit in silence, breathing each other in. And as much as I wish to remain cynical, they stir something in me. So, I find a seat, and I text him.
