Wandering the tundra, I knew not where I was nor how I had gotten there. But I was looking for something.
Some time had passed—maybe a few minutes, maybe several hours—before I came upon them. Underneath the rising moon were two figures with flashlights, separated by a curtain.
For a long while I stared, unsure of what to do. Eventually, I felt a pain in my side and knew I should speak.
“Hello?”
In tandem, the two looked at me. I felt a shudder down my spine.
“Hello?” I asked again.
They shined their flashlights in my eyes, paralyzing me. Then, I woke up.
